Russian and Chinese Railways sign a cooperation agreement

During the meeting, a cooperation agreement between Russian Railways (RZhD) JSC represented by President Oleg Belozerov and Chinese Railways represented by CEO Sheng Guangji was signed.

Both parties expressed their commitment to contribute to the development of foreign economic relations and railways in general, including an initiative to develop the Moscow-Beijing high-speed Eurasian corridor to support the economic union between the two countries.

The agreement states that both parties will actively develop the international transport corridor running through Russia and China, and will develop technology and improve the railway industry to increase traffic between the two countries and the speed of trains, including the development of innovations and modern technologies in railway construction and training of skilled workforce.

The parties have also agreed to develop a plan to improve conditions and technology of railway cargo transportation and to control traffic of scheduled container trains on the routes connecting China and Russia.
It should be noted that cooperation also aims to make travels between Russia and China more attractive for passengers and to offer new tourist routes.
